I'm with all these young new, future. mothers. Mothers deserve the care and information during before, during and after pregnanct s well as services that come EASILY TO ALL REGARDLESS OF INCOME.
Are you not amazed that this is not happening in this century, in america?
What's wrong with this picture???????????????????????ruthiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14604209650113997212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685435659965210499.post-19078750673819688262010-05-20T20:50:36.588-04:002010-05-20T20:50:36.588-04:00As one of the attendees at the meeting, I was thri...As one of the attendees at the meeting, I was thrilled that Laura became a member…her voice on Maternal Health and for the Rights of Women are of prime interest for NOW.
NOW affirms that reproductive rights are issues of life and death for women, not mere matters of choice. NOW fully supports access to safe and legal abortion, to effective birth control and emergency contraception, to reproductive health services and education for all women. NOW opposes attempts to restrict these rights through legislation, regulation or Constitutional amendment.

NOW has always been for a single payer health plan and is still working towards that end. It supports international women's health services and believes that a woman's right to safe and sufficient health services is a human right. All women should be able to live healthy lives and enjoy their sexuality and child bearing years free from forced pregnancies and the dread of disease and death.

NOW's goal has been to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW works to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the workplace, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure abortion, birth control and reproductive rights for all women; end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism and homophobia; and promote equality and justice in our society. NOW takes action to bring women as a class into the mainstream of society rather than offering aid to individual women in achieving personal solutions or temporary relief from oppression.

The local chapter is looking for young mothers, for people of color and diversity in ages, education, backgrounds, and etc. to help it fulfill its goals. Not everyone member is interested or knowledgeable of the myriad issues facing women in Sarasota and of the many wrongs that need righting. That is why the Sarasota Manatee chapter of NOW is reaching out to the women of Sarasota to find out what are their needs and how to work together to bring full equality to women.

NOW is a grassroots organization. The effectiveness and direction of local chapters depends on its members, For more information about the chapter or if you would like to help shape the conversations in Sarasota, visit our Web page or write to me personally.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7685435659965210499.post-16892135079004008492010-05-20T13:19:08.766-04:002010-05-20T13:19:08.766-04:00Very interesting stuff! One can use SO MUCH persuasion that the other has no clue that they are basically not telling the truth or the whole truth. Which one is doing this? DOCTOR!
Do you know about the various national groups that work on childbirth and healthy mother/baby?

http://www.birthnetwork.org/

choicesinchildbirth.org

http://www.childbirthconnection.org/

You probably do, but I did not have the time to look over your whole site. Just by our personal example, by including our daughter in our circle, keeping them close to our hearts and making connections with their souls early enough that they would never feel that their freedom might be taking from them. Especially during their pregnancy and birth. We need to teach them to Trust in Nature.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04442844097411268595noreply@blogger.com
